About

JM Design Atelier is a full-service interior design firm based in San Diego - California, and founded by Julie Morisot.

​

JM Design Atelier specializes in designing authentic and unique living spaces, and will assist with your project, whether it is a refresh update or a whole-house remodeling project.​

We keep things simple with a clear design process and open communication to ensure a seamless experience.

Our commitment to excellence and client satisfaction drives us to deliver designs tailored to each client's unique needs, style and preferences.​​​​

​​​​​Julie Morisot has acquired nearly twenty years of experience in the building construction and design industry. Shortly after relocating to San Diego ten years ago, she joined Anne Sneed Architectural Interiors, an architectural firm specialized in High End Residential and Commercial Projects. Currently holding the position of Senior Interior Designer + Project Manager, she manages architectural and interior design projects across design, permitting and construction phases. Her decade of experience in San Diego has made her knowledgeable in the building permit process, and enabled her to build strong connections in the industry. Julie completed a Living Future Accreditation and a Wildfire Defense Certificate for Construction Professionals.​​​​​​​​

Outside of the Atelier, Julie supports the community by being an active volunteer with organizations such as Rotary, U.S. Green Building Council, Ilan Lael Foundation, and EcoFest Encinitas. She currently holds a board of directors position at both the Solana Beach Eco Rotary Club and Ecofest Encinitas, and she previously served as President of the Solana Beach Eco Rotary Club for a year in 2022-2023.

Julie enjoys the great outdoor sceneries of San Diego by surfing her longboard in Cardiff Reef, hiking in and around the County, and she finds personal development through martial arts, specifically Tae Kwon Do.

  • Furniture and décor selection: curating furniture, fabrics, and accessories,

  • Lighting design: planning lighting layouts.

  • Project management: overseeing the project from start to finish, including managing contractors, budgets, and timelines,

  • Procurement and sourcing: handling the purchasing of materials and furnishings,

  • Coordination and installation: final installation and styling​.

Regenerative Design Service

At JM Design Atelier, human health and ecological well-being are an integral part of our design philosophy and values.​

American Institute of Architects defines Regenerative Design as the practice of activating the capacity of complex systems to restore, repair, and sustain life on this planet. It aims to use human intervention to not just stop environmental degradation, but also to restore the relationships between natural, social, and man-made systems, and identify the unique value-adding role that each contributes to the larger whole.
